A long while ago, I received a wedding invitation from a cousin of mine (Greek-American) which included an explanation of the bride taking a gold ring and the groom a silver, or vice versa, according to tradition. I’m curious to know who gets gold, who gets silver, and what the story behind the tradition is. My cousin included something on this, but it’s long forgotten and we’re not in touch. Many thanks!
