Actually when Macedonia was under the Turkish control for about 500 years or more? The Turks would come during weddings to steal the gifts and ruin the weddings. But because they were Islam Muslims they did not eat Pig and stood away from the animal alone. Therefore the Macedonians had created the pig dance as a “scare” tactic and can also be seen as “protection” from “dusmani”. This had apparently kept away the Turks during the celebration.
