My name is Aspasia Mavris and I love Greek weddings.  
I started writing about Greek weddings and traditions when my sister got married. I was the Koumbara at my sister’s wedding and I wanted to learn about my role and understand all the traditions that surrounded the wedding.

Now i am getting married and i still have so many questions about Greek wedding traditions.

This blog is my attempt to understand the history and relevance behind Greek wedding traditions that have been passed down through the generations.  

It seems that everyone i speak to has differing opinions on how things should be done. Traditions often differ between Islands, between countries and between generations.
